PRESENT: Mark Hibbett Robert Fleay Matthew
Whitaker
APOLOGIES
Mr Hibbett apologised for his late arrival, it was the DAMN TRAIN.
MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes were passed as VALID. It was suggested that in future copies of the minutes be sent to all Board Members in advance of the meeting, and this was agreed.
MATTERS ARISING
Reports were heard on the following items:
PLUGGERS
Mr Hibbett presented the latest campaign report, which wasn't much different from the last, but was still cool.
FINANCE
The returns for May sales were presented to the board - we should be getting £110.99 sometime soon.
GIGS
Mr Hibbett reported that he had two gigs forthcoming - August 27th at the Garage in London, and something one way or the other at Abbey Park on August 9th. These were duly noted.
THE BIG STAMP
The Big Stamp had arrived, and was flashed about and utilised for the rest of the meeting. Thanks were passed to Mr Whitaker to sorting it, it's SMART.
MISSION STATEMENT/CONTRACT
Mr Hibbett presented the board with a copy of the draft contract, which contained within it many of the sections of the mission statement. Initially the only changes put forward were for clearing up the issue of the artistes' quota of 10% and including space for The Big Stamp, but all Board members were to take it away, have a big think, and then edit and validate it at the next meeting.
A&R
PALA
The PALA single/CD project was officially validated. Mr Whitaker was meeting with the group in the near future to discuss matters, and would report back at the next meeting. They seemed very enthusiastic though, which was nice.
STUMBLE
Mr Fleay had spoken further with STUMBLE, and the project was officially validated. This project would now be a split single between them and LAZER GUIDED, and a demo of said combo would be provided as soon as convenient. Until then this was Provisionally Validated. Again, Mr Fleay was to meet with STUMBLE and discuss matters further, reporting back at the next meeting.
SIENNA
SIENNA are pending a bass player, and thus so was the issue of another single.
F.P.V.
Mr Hibbett had had further discussions with FPV, and negotiations were still ongoing.
JAPANESE FIGHTING GIRLS
Mr Hibbett had contacted JFG, and was in the midst of trying to persuade them/him to do something. A copy of the uk-indie tape, which included 2 tracks by JFG, was passed on to Mr Whitaker for his delectation.
MJ HIBBETT
Mr Fleay and Mr Whitaker had discussed this prior to Mr Hibbett's arrival and had decided that he would be doing a solo single and would have to find the GRAND somewhere - "So far he has been learning to ride, now it is time to take off the stabilisers" said Mr Fleay metaphorically, and Mr Hibbett resolved to have a Good Old Think about it, but would probably do it, OK.
THE ROBERT FLEAY ORCHESTRA
This too was pending a bit more thought.
SCHEDULING
At speed a cunning plan was devised. The Stumble/Lazer Guided single would be released in September/October. The MJ Hibbett single would follow four weeks later in October/November, and then the Pala single/CD would bring up the rear in January. This meant that the first two projects would have to be sorted at speed, and it was agreed that both would have artwork and DATs ready by the next meeting.
COMPANY SONG
Mr Hibbett had made a start on the company song, and sung it to the rest of the board, who GOT ON DOWN AND SHOOK THEIR FUNKY TAIL FEATHERS. He stated his bold claim to pass on a copy of said ditty to them both, for further addition.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
EXPENSES FORMS
These had been prepared, and were filled out by the board in respect of expenses for the AAS011 campaign, thus being formally validated.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be at 7.00pm on July 29th at the Victoria Inn, Derby.
