Artists Against Success:
Away Day Report, 2000

After the end of the Board Meeting of March 18th at the Plough Inn, Hathersage, the Board indulged in a lengthy BRANE storming session, continuing over a fine meal and into the early hours. The main points are as follows.

ROSTER

Rather than continue with a slimmed down line-up of bands, or indeed stop altogether, The Board would make renewed efforts to find exciting new bands.

THE LABEL THIS YEAR

The output of the label had remained steady, compared to the previous year. Through the PWWMPC many important lessons had been learned, which would apply to the future. It was also hoped that the visibility of the label itself would continue to increase.

CONCEPT EPS

There was lengthy discussion about the possibility of a series of compilation concept EPs, which would be an easy way both to put out new material and to raise the profile of all concerned. The favourite idea was Replacement Theme Songs, that is, getting affiliated artistes to write new theme songs for existing films, possibly with each EP taking on a particular genre, e.g. Bond films, Carry On, etc.

WINE

The meeting agreed that wine was really nice.

GURLS

The meeting agreed that GURLS were also a Good Thing. There was really a lot of discussion about this.

WE ARE REALLY GRATE

The Board discussed how GRATE they were, and pointed out the GRATENESS of the other members of the board. Hugging was in evidence.
