IT'S US AGAIN

It's true, you wait six months for an issue of This Is Valid, and then TWO come along in the space of... er... two months. And why? BECAUSE WE HAVE NEWS.

A NATION GIRDS ITSELF FOR THE CHEMISTRY EXPERIMENT

If you have noticed the entire nation trying to diet, going to the gym, and buying new clothes just lately and wondered why - WONDER NO MORE, for LO! it is simply because the entire nation knows that The Chemistry Experiment are coming round soon and wants to look NICE. With their LEGENDARY debut album "The Giraffe Album" out around about October 29th (featuring ALL their other material released to date, CD fans!) the BAND are off on a PREEMPTIVE TOUR, where you can buy it from the Chemex Kids THEMSELVES. Mon 15th October Leeds, Josephs Well
w/The Lucksmiths and The Essex Green

Tues 16th October London, Toynbee Hall
w/The Essex Green and Chinese Burns

Wed 17th October Hull, The Adelphi

Fri 19th October Reading, Rising Sun Arts Centre

Go along and see them if you can, because they really are BLOODY GRATE and we're, hey, deeply proud as a label to have them.

A NATION CONFUSED BY THE KRAKEN

If you've noticed the entire nation looking slightly bemused, bumping into things, smiling gently and appearing for all the world to be entering that blissful phase of a workday morning just before a really enormous hangover kicks in and you think "But i feel GRATE! What's going on?" then DON'T PANIC. The entire nation didn't go out last night for a quiet drink only to inexplicably find itself in Tuesday Night Student Night "Indie" Disco (all drinks a pound) at 2a.m. dancing to that song that sampled "How Soon Is Now" and unable to remember what it was called.

No, the entire nation has probably been listening to "Man Car Plane" by The Frightened Prisoners of the Kraken which is well and truly OUT NOW. Honestly, if you've not got this yet DO go out and get it as you WON'T be disappointed, it's GRATE.

And when you do, pass sympathy to the various radio stations who have described it as "The perfect medium between kids TV and Brian Eno" , "Bizarre!", "Another dismal failure from AAS. WILD album!", "Nuts! I love it!" and quite possibly "HELP! WHAT IS IT?"

It's that sort of album really - you'll either love it or... well, you'll be an awful dullard who prefers instrumentals because lyrics give you headaches. Anyway, WE LOVE IT, go buy, go buy!

AGM NEARLY HERE

We're FIBRILATING with THRILLS here at the AAS fictional HQ, as the AGM draws close. Happening on October 22nd at the Blessington Carriage in Derby, the evening will start around 8pm with a KEYNOTE ADDRESS by our charming, handsome, newsletter writing Chairman. Telegrams from non-attending bands will be read, there will be financial reports and JAPERY, followed by a BEER BREAK and SINGALONG SESSION wherein all present will have a go at entering their peers. It's going to be GRATE, and YOU are invited.
