KERRANG TELL US OFF!

For two months running this MIGHTY ORGAN has been
roundly scolded by KERRANG, for not putting our
gig dates at the top of our newsletter. SO here,
just for the only weekly (although it's
fortnightly, but you know what we mean) music
paper NOT written by and for a bunch of cnuts, are
THOSE DATES IN FULL:

13 December, The Blue Cat Cafe, Stockport
Frightened Prisoners of the Kraken
AND MJ Hibbett

IT'S A VALIDATORS CHRISTMAS

FINALLY, The Kids' prayers are ANSWERED - MJ Hibbett & The Validators finally release new material just in time for Christmas! The EIGHT(8) track EP "Milk & Baubles" is out in the shops NOW! It features LIVE FAVOURITE "Easily Impressed" PLUS "Give Us A Kiss (for Christmas)" the, frankly, ACE Christmas song featured on the compilation"50,000 Elves Fans Can't Be Wrong" ALSO out just in time for Christmas. With 2 BRAND NEW tracks especially recorded and FOUR previously unreleased HITS from the "Say It With Words" archive, this is the ideal present for young or old! Go see them LIVE too, it'll be NICE!

##

GIRAFFE ALBUM OUT NOW

YES after the HOT THRILLS of their recent tour, where many an album was sold, it's time for those poor few unable to attend to have THEIR chance at buying the LEGENDARY "Giraffe Album". Compiling EVERYTHING they've so far released (where "released" may mean "given to 3 friends) with some EXCLUSIVE new tracks, this is the ideal present for young or old!

EVERYBODY FOCUS

Having pretty much run out of bands to badger into answer the usual questions, we now present our NEW! INVIGORATING! VAGUELY SIMILAR! FOCUS exercise. This month we ask all sorts of people:

What would you like for Christmas?

Matyi from The Fighting Cocks:
"My Two Front Teeth"

Stephen from Johnny Domino:
"A Dukla Prague Away Kit"

The Frightened Prisoners of the Kraken:
"Just about anything from off the Shopping
Channel, so long as (a) it has an FM radio
built into its handle and (b) it doesn't look
like Matthew Kelly."

Francis Albert Machine:
"An end to all wars. Especially any that
involve grown men, stupid robots and Craig
Charles."

Gary from Frankie Machine:
"As my late grandma used to say - a doll and a
drum and a kick up the bum. It's interesting
to note that when she passed on, she no
longer recognised her own children on account
of being too mad. it's like having a genetic
crystal ball."

Joanne from Frankie Machine:
"two glittery cats kissing"

The Frightened Prisoners of the Kraken (again):
"Since you're paying, I'll also have some body
chocolate, and a roller and tray. That way,
I can spread a large area with ease, it will
dry quicker and I won't get any of those
annoying streaks. Perhaps some peanuts too,
for a pleasing pebble-dash effect. "

MJ Hibbett:
"A Kiss."

But ALSO to go out and FIND some NEW records of Great Beauty to show off about, and BOY OH BOY do we have some GRATE stuff on the horizon. No names no pack drill as yet, but be warned that one of the potential new AAS recruits is the HEAVIEST BAND YOU WILL EVER HEAR (really - Kerrang! bloke, if you are still reading, you are going to LOVE these), and the other is CLASSICAL PIANO and it's GORGEOUS!

Artists Against Success: ECLETIC, and GRATE!

AAS AGM A-OK

Finally, a quick note to thank all those who attended this year's AGM. A ROLLICKING time was had by all and afterwards the BOARD and various associated retired to a DANCING PARLOUR where dancing and BEER were undertaken well into the night. Even when undertaken essential business administration tasks we BLOODY ROCK.
